HB 1660 Summary

• Amends 51 O.S. 2011, Section 152 to modify definitions under The Governmental Tort Claims Act

• Adds new definition for "Community health care provider" including volunteers at federally qualified health centers and look-alike community health centers

• Expands "Employee" definition to include any former highway patrolman who has retired from the Highway Patrol Division and maintains an active handgun license or is authorized to carry firearms under federal law, if the retired patrolman discharges a firearm and injures or kills a person committing a crime

• Clarifies that physician faculty members and staff of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and College of Osteopathic Medicine not engaged in administrative or teaching duties are not state employees

• Effective date: November 1, 2015
