HB 1756 Summary

• Removes the Commissioner of the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry authority to replace the Oklahoma Peanut Commission with a successor organization.

• Transfers duties from the executive secretary to the executive director of the Oklahoma Peanut Commission and changes references to "peanut growers" instead of "Oklahoma Peanut Growers Association members."

• Abolishes the Oklahoma Peanut Commission Revolving Fund and declares that any unexpended balance as of November 1, 2015, shall no longer be considered state property and may be transferred to a successor organization.

• Changes the refund request form reference from "Marketing Quota (MQ's)" to "marketing settlement forms" for growers seeking refunds of the $4.00 per net ton assessment.

• Repeals six sections of the Oklahoma Peanut Act (Sections 18-52, 18-53, 18-54, 18-55, 18-56, and 18-59) and becomes effective November 1, 2015.
