Each candidate for Governor must designate a person to run as the nominee for Lieutenant Governor, who must be from the same political party if the Governor candidate is a registered party member.

Joint candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor must file a single Declaration of Candidacy and appear jointly on the ballot.

A Declaration of Candidacy form for the Governor and Lieutenant Governor offices must be signed by both candidates with signatures properly notarized.

Governor and Lieutenant Governor candidates shall be nominated and elected jointly through a single vote applicable to both offices, with neither candidate appearing individually on the ballot.

The act becomes effective upon approval by Oklahoma voters of the constitutional amendment contained in House Joint Resolution No. 1011 of the 1st Session of the 55th Legislature.
