HB 1824 Summary

• Transfers all powers, duties, records, and equipment related to the Oklahoma Art in Public Places Act from the Oklahoma Historical Society to the Oklahoma Arts Council effective July 1, 2015.

• Transfers all unexpended funds, property, and financial obligations related to the program, with restrictions that transferred resources may only be used for Art in Public Places Act duties.

• Prohibits the Oklahoma Historical Society from entering into contracts related to public art administration extending beyond the transfer date without Oklahoma Arts Council approval.

• Updates statutory references throughout Title 74 to reflect the agency change from Oklahoma Historical Society to Oklahoma Arts Council, including administration of revolving funds and the Art in Public Places Oversight Committee.

• Declares an emergency to allow the act to take effect immediately upon passage and approval, in addition to the July 1, 2015 effective date.
