HB 1852 Summary

• Prohibits the Tax Commission from providing, transferring, or sharing motor vehicle registration records with another state for purposes of enforcing or collecting a turnpike toll that occurred in a state other than Oklahoma.

• Maintains existing confidentiality protections for motor vehicle registration records, certificates of title, and related information held by the Oklahoma Tax Commission and Corporation Commission.

• Prohibits the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority from providing, transferring, or sharing motor vehicle registration records with another state for purposes of enforcing or collecting a turnpike toll that occurred in a state other than Oklahoma.

• Establishes that violations of confidentiality provisions constitute a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not exceeding $1,000, imprisonment not exceeding one year, or both.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2015.
