Every uniformed law enforcement officer in Oklahoma must wear an operating camera with microphone for audio capture at all times when interacting with the public in official capacity.

Every law enforcement agency or police department must catalog and preserve all video and audio recordings made by body cameras.

Law enforcement agencies must establish written policies covering proper equipment uses, camera activation times, conditions permitting non-activation, retention periods for recordings, equipment replacement procedures, and logging of equipment failures or service outages.

Body camera policies must be filed at law enforcement agencies and police departments and made open to public inspection or available on the agency's website.

Act becomes effective November 1, 2015.
