HB 1903 Summary

• Prohibits employment of children under 16 years old in manufacturing, mining, processing, hoisting apparatus, power-driven machinery (except office machines), motor vehicle operation, and public messenger service

• Prohibits children under 16 from working in transportation, warehousing, storage, communications, public utilities, and construction occupations (except office or sales work)

• Prohibits employment of children under 16 in occupations declared hazardous by federal law or the Oklahoma Commissioner of Labor

• Exempts children working on farms, for parents, in parent-owned entities, delivering newspapers, and performing voluntary charitable work (with parental written permission)

• Effective date: November 1, 2015
