Department of Human Services shall electronically record each referral received by the child abuse/neglect hotline and securely retain recordings for 90 days.

Recorded referrals are confidential and subject to disclosure only upon request to the alleged perpetrator in the referral and in cases where criminal charges have been filed, subject to subsection E of Section 1-6-102.

Department shall redact information identifying the reporting party unless otherwise ordered by the court when disclosing a referral.

Existing provisions maintained requiring all persons with reason to believe a child is abused or neglected to report to the Department, with protections against employer retaliation.

Act becomes effective November 1, 2015.
