• Hospitals billing Medicaid must report to the State Department of Health starting June 30, 2016, the patient charges, Medicaid reimbursement, and Medicare reimbursement for the 100 most frequently reported inpatient diagnostic-related groups, with patient identifiers redacted.

• Hospitals and ambulatory surgical facilities must report to the Department starting September 30, 2016, total costs for the 100 most common surgical procedures and 50 most common imaging procedures performed in outpatient settings.

• The State Department of Health must publish current price information from hospitals and ambulatory surgical facilities on its website and provide hyperlinks to state and federal hospital quality information websites.

• Hospitals and ambulatory surgical facilities must provide patients with requested pricing information in writing within three business days, with facilities not accepting Medicaid or Medicare funds exempt from reporting requirements.

• The State Commissioner of Health may suspend or revoke licenses of hospitals or ambulatory surgical facilities that violate the act; act becomes effective November 1, 2015.
