Amends 74 O.S. 2011, Section 150.23 to authorize correctional officers, probation and parole officers, and internal affairs agents of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections to retain custody and possession of their sidearm and badge upon retirement by reason of length of service.

Extends existing sidearm retention rights previously granted to officers and agents of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, State Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control, Department of Wildlife Conservation, State Fire Marshal's Office, and other specified state agencies to include Department of Corrections personnel.

Officers retiring due to disability may retain their sidearm and badge upon written approval of the applicable Department Director.

The sidearm and badge of a deceased officer may be awarded by the applicable Director to the spouse or next of kin.

Effective date: November 1, 2015.
