HB 2115 Summary

• Creates the Oklahoma Water Reclamation Study Act and establishes the Oklahoma Water Reclamation Study Task Force as an advisory body to the Oklahoma Legislature.

• Task Force consists of 16 members appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate and Speaker of the House, including state legislators, local government officials, rural water district representatives, planning commission members, and rural residents.

• Directs the Task Force to conduct in-depth reviews of drinking water and wastewater issues, surface water rights, regulatory requirements, infrastructure needs, funding sources, and water regulations, laws, treaties and compacts.

• Task Force authorized to explore and investigate public and private funding sources, make recommendations to the Legislature, and receive staff assistance from the House, Senate, Oklahoma Water Resources Board, and state agencies.

• Task Force activities and operations terminate no later than December 31, 2018; act becomes effective November 1, 2015.
