Creates the "Rational Use of a Product Act" to limit product liability claims based on unreasonable misuse of products.

Shields sellers (manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, retailers) from civil liability for harm caused by unreasonable misuse of their products.

Allows damages reduction proportional to any unreasonable misuse that contributed to injury, with possibility that harm was caused solely by such misuse.

Defines "unreasonable misuse" as use that a reasonably prudent person would not have undertaken or that was not reasonably foreseeable by the seller; applies higher standard for professionals with specialized training.

Establishes that misused products may still be defective only if alternative designs or additional warnings could have significantly reduced foreseeable risks of reasonable (not unreasonable) misuse without unreasonable cost increases or loss of product efficiency.

Becomes effective November 1, 2015.
