SB 150 Summary

• Prohibits Board members from serving as chair or vice-chair for more than two (2) consecutive years.

• Requires completion of investigation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner before body custody transfers to funeral directors, removing the previous three-hour time limit.

• Authorizes relocation of the Office of the State Medical Examiner central office to a location adjacent to or near the University of Central Oklahoma Forensic Science Institute through lease-purchase agreements.

• Changes medical examiner qualifications terminology from "Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy and Surgery" to "Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine" and updates references to "Death Investigator" from "medical examiner's designee."

• Establishes fee schedule ranges for forensic services and permits, including cremation permits ($100-$200), forensic science services ($100-$3,000), and various report and specimen fees, effective November 1, 2015.
