Creates exception to Oklahoma's nepotism law allowing undersheriffs or deputy sheriffs related to their sheriff by affinity within the third degree to be considered for promotions, wage increases, and lateral transfers if they held their position prior to the sheriff's election or appointment.

Specifies that promotions, wage increases, or lateral transfers under this exception do not constitute new appointments subject to nepotism restrictions.

Amends 21 O.S. 2011, Section 481 to make nepotism law gender neutral by changing "him" to "him or her."

Clarifies that nepotism restrictions do not apply to situations covered by Section 5-113 of Title 70 or the new exception created in this act.

Becomes effective November 1, 2015.
