Senate Bill 257 Summary

• Modifies the definition of "membership service" in the Oklahoma Teachers' Retirement System to include all sick leave and personal business leave provided under Sections 6-104 and 6-104.1, regardless of whether a member received reduced pay for using such leave.

• Effective July 1, 2015, allows retiring or terminating members to receive creditable service credit for all utilized sick leave and personal business leave, expanding eligibility for retirement benefits.

• Amends 70 O.S. 2011, Section 17-101 and Section 17-116.2 of the Oklahoma Teachers' Retirement System statutes.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2015.
