Senate Bill 314 Summary

• Allows eligible but unregistered persons to register to vote on designated election days by appearing at the county election board office.

• Requires completion of voter registration application, written oath, and proof of identity as defined in existing statute (Section 7-114 of Title 26).

• Permits persons without current precinct address on identification to present alternative proof of identity showing name and address in the precinct.

• Allows registered voters to cast ballots on the day of registration if the county election board determines they are qualified to vote.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2015.
