Engrossed Senate Bill 418 Summary

• Amends Oklahoma statute 47 O.S. 2011, Section 14-103G to add a new annual hay permit category allowing movement of round baled hay measuring 13 feet 6 inches to 14 feet 6 inches in height.

• Annual hay permit fee is $50.00 and is nonrefundable, valid for one calendar year, and nontransferable between vehicles.

• Permits require prior Department of Public Safety approval of the transportation route and are prohibited on Interstate highways and four-lane turnpikes.

• Establishes that "emergency" means permitted pole movement not for new construction of electric distribution facilities.

• Act takes effect immediately upon passage and approval due to declared emergency related to public peace, health, and safety.
