SB 434 Summary

• Board of Chiropractic Examiners authorized to employ investigators certified as peace officers with statewide jurisdiction to investigate written complaints regarding chiropractic physician conduct.

• Complaint information and investigation findings kept confidential; information may only be disclosed in administrative proceedings before the Board, to law enforcement, or to other state agencies under circumstances ensuring protection against unauthorized access.

• Respondents may obtain investigation information (except investigative reports) by signing a protective order limiting use to Board proceeding defense and appeals.

• International applicants must provide satisfactory evidence of permanent residence or temporary nonimmigrant status per United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and submit notarized English translations of foreign language credentials.

• Board shall issue licenses to applicants who pass required examination and meet all Board requirements; no license fee charged for remainder of calendar year in which license is issued.
