Students in grades 6-12 who assault or attempt to cause physical bodily injury to education employees or school volunteers are subject to out-of-school suspension.

Student assault violations do not limit criminal liability under Oklahoma law for assault, battery, or assault and battery upon school employees.

Education employees are granted immunity from liability when using necessary and reasonable force to control and discipline students during school attendance, school transit, or school district-authorized functions.
