SB 527 Summary

• Amends the definition of "computer" in the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act to explicitly include "guidance and control software and systems installed in a motor vehicle"

• Expands prohibited computer crimes in Section 1953 to include unauthorized access to or interference with motor vehicle guidance and control systems across nine criminal offense categories

• Classifies violations of paragraphs 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, or 9 (including motor vehicle system offenses) as felonies punishable under Section 1955

• Classifies violations of paragraphs 4, 5, or 8 as misdemeanors

• Becomes effective November 1, 2015
