Senate Bill 56 Summary

• Amends Oklahoma's handgun license application requirements under 21 O.S. Section 1290.18 by removing the Social Security number requirement from the application form.

• Renumbers the remaining application form requirements, shifting items 17-31 up by one number after the deletion of the Social Security number item.

• Maintains all other application content requirements including applicant's full legal name, birth information, residency history, physical descriptors, citizenship status, military/law enforcement identification numbers, occupation, authorized pistol types, and various certifications and acknowledgments.

• Preserves the confidentiality of information provided on handgun license applications except for disclosure to law enforcement officers or agencies.

• Effective date: November 1, 2015.
