State Department of Health and State Department of Education shall jointly develop and post guidelines on their websites about sudden cardiac arrest symptoms (fainting, difficulty breathing, chest pain, dizziness, abnormal heart rate, extreme fatigue) for students, parents, and coaches.

Students and parents must sign an annual acknowledgement form confirming receipt and review of sudden cardiac arrest warning signs information before participation in any athletic activity.

Students exhibiting signs or symptoms of sudden cardiac arrest must be immediately removed from participation by a coach and cannot return until evaluated and cleared in writing by a licensed physician, certified nurse practitioner, or cardiologist.

Coaches must complete an annual sudden cardiac arrest training course approved by the State Department of Health before coaching any athletic activity.

School district boards shall establish minimum penalties for coaches violating removal requirements: first violation equals suspension for remainder of season; second violation equals suspension for remainder of season plus next season; third violation equals permanent suspension from coaching.
