The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation administers the Oklahoma Reward System to disburse cash awards to persons providing valuable information resulting in arrest and conviction of an accused person or materially assisting in crime investigation.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation shall implement procedures and regulations to determine reward amounts offered for information on specific crimes and series of crimes.

Persons seeking to collect rewards must submit: the crime committed, victim name, name of arrested and convicted person, cooperating law enforcement agency name, and a written statement from that agency detailing the extent of cooperation provided.

Peace officers, district attorneys, assistant district attorneys, and immediate family members of these officials are prohibited from receiving any cash award from the reward fund.

The act becomes effective November 1, 2015.
