OK SB725

Amends 84 O.S. 2011, Section 231 to expand the list of offenses that prevent a person from inheriting from or benefitting from a victim's estate.

Adds conviction for abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a vulnerable adult under Section 843.3 of Title 21 to the existing prohibitions against inheriting from murder or manslaughter victims.

Applies the inheritance prohibition to insurance policies, beneficiary designations (POD/TOD accounts), joint tenancies, and all forms of estate distribution for persons convicted of the expanded offenses.

Redirects benefits and proceeds that would have gone to the convicted person to other heirs according to Oklahoma's laws of descent and distribution.

Takes effect November 1, 2015.
