SB 780 Summary

• Secretary of the State Election Board shall prepare printed and electronic voter information pamphlets before each state election to inform voters about candidates and ballot issues.

• Pamphlets shall include ballot titles with links to full text, judicial selection process and candidates, lists of candidates for statewide, legislative, county, and district attorney offices, election date and poll hours, and absentee voting information.

• Candidates may submit a photograph and statement of qualifications (not exceeding 100 words) by the 90th day before the election; statements cannot reference other candidates.

• Electronic version shall be published on the State Election Board website and provided to county election boards with websites; registered voters may request delivery by email.

• Act becomes effective November 1, 2015.
