• Charter school student membership is calculated separately from their sponsoring district for purposes of weighted average daily membership and state aid allocation.

• Charter schools receive state aid generated by their students minus up to 5% administrative fee retained by the sponsoring district, plus additional funds for facility use calculated by multiplying actual enrollment by 0.25.

• First-year charter schools and full-time virtual charter schools receive initial funding based on actual enrollment multiplied by 1.333, with midyear adjustment using first quarter weighted average daily membership.

• Charter schools sponsored by technology centers, higher education institutions, the State Board of Education, or federally recognized Indian tribes have state aid distributed directly by the State Board of Education with up to 5% administrative fee charged by sponsor.

• Act becomes effective July 1, 2015, with emergency clause allowing immediate effect upon passage and approval.
