OK SJR20

Directs the Secretary of State to refer a proposed amendment to Section 26 of Article II of the Oklahoma Constitution to voters for approval or rejection.

Establishes the right to keep and bear arms, including handguns, rifles, shotguns, knives, nonlethal defensive weapons, and ammunition, for security, self-defense, lawful hunting, recreation, and other legitimate purposes, with such right subject to strict scrutiny if regulated.

Permits the Legislature to prohibit arm possession by convicted felons, those adjudicated mentally incompetent, and those involuntarily committed to mental institutions.

Prohibits any law imposing registration or special taxation on the acquisition, ownership, possession, or transfer of arms, ammunition, or their components.

Requires the President Pro Tempore of the Senate to file copies of the resolution with the Secretary of State and Attorney General immediately after passage.
