Oklahoma State Senate celebrates the 35th anniversary of the Sister-State relationship between Oklahoma and Taiwan, initiated on July 25, 1980.

The United States and Taiwan are significant trading partners, with the U.S. ranking as Taiwan's third largest trading partner and Taiwan the 10th largest for the U.S., with bilateral trade reaching $63 billion in 2012.

Taiwan became a member of the U.S. Visa Waiver Program effective November 1, 2012, facilitating business and tourism travel between Taiwan and Oklahoma.

A copy of the resolution shall be distributed to Director General Steve Hsia of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston.
