State Department of Health shall establish and coordinate a statewide coordinated system of care for stroke with focus on timely access to care, diagnosis, and advanced treatment for persons disproportionately affected.

System shall include recommendations from the Oklahoma Hospital Advisory Council and medical experts in stroke care, collaboration with relevant professional organizations, and measures to raise awareness about high blood pressure and diabetes prevention.

Requires utilization of state-recognized stroke hospital classifications and protocols for evidence-based pre-hospital and interfacility assessment, treatment, and transport of stroke patients by emergency medical responders and licensed agencies.

State Board of Health may promulgate rules as necessary to implement the provisions of this section.

Act becomes effective November 1, 2015.
