HB 1736 Summary

• Oklahoma Board of Nursing shall administer the nurse licensure compact and determine that other states' nursing qualifications are substantially equivalent to or more stringent than Oklahoma's minimum requirements before recognizing their licenses.

• Executive Director of the Oklahoma Board of Nursing is authorized to enter into a compact with any U.S. state or jurisdiction on behalf of Oklahoma using a form substantially similar to the model law created by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.

• Oklahoma Board of Nursing shall promulgate rules necessary to implement the provisions of this act.

• Effective date is November 1, 2015.
