Allows landowners to post property against trespassing using purple paint marks on posts as an alternative to traditional "No Trespassing" signs

Purple paint marks must be vertical lines at least 1 inch wide and 8 inches long, placed 3-5 feet from the ground, and no more than 1,000 feet apart on regular land or 100 feet apart on forest land

Requires explanatory signs accompanying purple paint marks from November 1, 2016 through October 31, 2017, after which no explanatory signs are needed

Trespass on posted property remains punishable by fines up to $250, or if waste, theft, or damage occurs, fines of $50-$500 and/or 30 days to 6 months imprisonment

Exempts registered land surveyors and professional engineers performing professional land surveying services from trespass provisions
