Eliminates the statute of limitations for civil lawsuits brought by human trafficking victims, allowing them to file suit at any time after the offense occurred

Removes the previous time limitations that required civil actions to be filed by the victim's 21st birthday, emancipation from the defendant, or upon discovery of the trafficking

Establishes that criminal prosecutions for human trafficking under Section 748 of Title 21 may be commenced at any time after the commission of the offense, with no statute of limitations

Effective date of November 1, 2016
