School districts must adopt written earthquake protection plans covering students, faculty, staff, administrators, and visitors, integrated with existing emergency management plans required under Title 63, Section 681

Districts must provide earthquake-preparedness and response training to faculty, staff, and administrators, contingent upon funding availability and coordinated through the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management

Each public school must conduct a minimum of two earthquake drills per school year to teach participants how to identify safe cover locations and react during an earthquake, with all students and employees participating

Amends existing school safety drill requirements to add earthquake drills alongside the eight other required annual safety drills (fire, intruder, tornado, and discretionary drills)

Effective date of July 1, 2016, with an emergency clause for immediate implementation upon passage
