Cities may now participate in the state Disability Insurance Program by adopting a resolution through their municipal governing body, expanding eligibility beyond counties

Participation begins on the first day of the second full month after filing a certified copy of the resolution with the Oklahoma Employees Insurance and Benefits Board

All employees of a participating city must be covered under the disability insurance program

Cities are required to forward contributions to the Board to pay for employee disability coverage, with contribution amounts determined by the Board

Effective date: November 1, 2016
