HB 3125 Summary

• Modifies eligibility for Disabled Veterans License Plates to include veterans with a service-connected disability rating of 10% or more (previously 50% or more)

• Expands eligibility to veterans who have been awarded a vehicle by the U.S. government or receive a grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs for vehicle purchase due to service-connected disability or loss of limb/eye

• Allows eligible disabled veterans and surviving spouses to apply for up to two plates with vehicles having a rated capacity of one (1) ton or less, with total plate expense not to exceed $5.00

• Permits qualified disabled veterans to receive a plate displaying the international accessibility symbol (wheelchair figure) if also eligible for a physically disabled placard

• Effective date: November 1, 2016
