Supports the Oklahoma Attorney General in taking action to protect students, parents, and school districts from the May 13, 2016 Dear Colleague Letter on Transgender Students issued by the U.S. Department of Justice and Department of Education.

Calls on the Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction and State Board of Education to instruct school districts they may disregard the federal guidance and adopt their own policies regarding transgender student access to facilities and services.

Recognizes and supports the authority of local school district boards of education to make decisions and policies regarding safe and respectful learning environments for all students.

Directs distribution of the resolution to the Attorney General, State Board of Education, and State Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Adopted by the Oklahoma House on May 26, 2016 and the Senate on May 27, 2016.
