Persons or entities lawfully operating in Oklahoma may use public roads, highways, and rights-of-way to erect poles, posts, wires, fixtures, pipes, and conduits after obtaining consent from the Department of Transportation (for state highways) or county commissioners (for county roads)

All installations must conform to the National Electrical Safety Code and not inconvenience or endanger public use of roads

Temporary use (less than one year) that serves public safety by reducing other highway burdens does not require consent from or compensation to abutting landowners

Users must completely repair or replace any damage to roads or rights-of-way caused by their installations, and failure to comply with rules forfeits the right to use the public roads
