SB 1260 Summary

• Adds requirement for Director of Department of Corrections to annually review all supervision and treatment programs provided for inmates and utilize evidence-based practices to reduce likelihood of future criminal behavior.

• Authorizes Director to suspend Department of Corrections employees charged with violations of Department rules or felonies pending investigation and final determination of charges.

• Requires reinstatement with full back pay and benefits if charges are determined to be without merit or not sustained before the Oklahoma Merit Protection Commission or in court.

• Preserves employees' right to appeal under the Oklahoma Personnel Act.

• Effective November 1, 2016.
