Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers retiring by reason of length of service or physical disability may purchase their service rifle or shotgun at the replacement cost the Department paid at time of purchase, with proceeds deposited in the Department of Public Safety Revolving Fund.

All retired officers retain custody and possession of their service sidearm and badge immediately prior to retirement, along with their official license plate (not to be placed on any motor vehicle).

Spouse or next of kin of deceased officers may be awarded custody of the sidearm, one complete uniform, badge, and official license plate by the Commissioner.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents may purchase their service rifle or shotgun upon retirement at the price the Bureau paid at time of purchase.

Act becomes effective November 1, 2015.
