• Requires applicants to have good moral character, graduate from an accredited music therapy program, complete 1,200 hours of clinical training plus 180 hours pre-internship and 900 hours of internship experience, and pass a national board certification examination.

• Provides for license renewal annually with continuing education requirements, temporary permits for up to one year, and reciprocal licensing for therapists licensed in other states with substantially equivalent standards.

• Establishes maximum fees of $150.00 for examination, $50.00 for license and renewal, and $25.00 for temporary permits; violations constitute misdemeanors subject to license suspension, revocation, or probation.
