Senate Bill 1520 Summary

• Amends 12 O.S. 2011, Section 2005 to establish procedures for filing papers containing confidential information protected by protective orders.

• Requires papers containing, attaching, or referencing confidential information protected by disclosure to be filed temporarily under seal for the greater of 45 days or until the court resolves a pending motion for permanent sealing.

• Filing papers under seal pursuant to this section automatically satisfies requirements under Sections 24A.29 and 24A.30 of Title 51 of the Oklahoma Statutes.

• Clarifies existing filing procedures including service methods (delivery, mail, electronic transmission), acceptable duplicate copies, and facsimile filing with court approval.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2016.
