Out-of-state physicians licensed in good standing may be exempted from Oklahoma licensure requirements if they have a written or oral agreement with a sports team to provide care at a specific sporting event in Oklahoma or are invited by a national sports governing body to provide services at a national training center or sanctioned event in Oklahoma.

Sports team physician exemptions are valid for a maximum of 10 days per sporting event, with an additional 20 days available upon prior request to the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision or State Board of Osteopathic Examiners, not to exceed 30 additional days in a calendar year.

National sports governing body physician exemptions are valid for a maximum of 30 days, as certified by the national sports governing body.

Exempt physicians may not provide care to Oklahoma residents outside the specified scope or practice at licensed health care facilities in Oklahoma.

The State Boards of Medical Licensure and Supervision and Osteopathic Examiners may enter into agreements with other states' licensing boards to implement the act and may establish rules for enforcement; the act becomes effective November 1, 2016.
