Senate Bill 306 Summary

• Amends the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) definition section to require credited service credit for mandatory overtime hours worked by certain Department of Corrections employees.

• Applies to correctional officers, probation and parole officers, and fugitive apprehension agents who are required by the Department to work mandatory overtime, defining "overtime" as hours worked beyond regular fixed hours.

• Credited overtime hours count toward years of service for retirement eligibility and benefit calculations under the OPERS retirement system.

• Effective November 1, 2015.
