Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs must establish a burial assistance program for honorably discharged indigent veterans, providing up to $500 per veteran for interment or cremation costs

Eligible veterans must have been homeless at the time of death, died in Oklahoma, and have no estate assets or legally obligated persons to cover funeral expenses

Oklahoma National Guard and Reserve members whose only service was training duty qualify if they meet other federal eligibility requirements under 38 CFR 38.620

Payments come from the Indigent Veteran Burial Revolving Fund, with the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs Revolving Fund serving as backup when insufficient funds exist
