State agencies must disclose federal and/or state authority for any part of their operations upon request by resolution during regular legislative sessions.

Any legislator may request legal authority documentation by introducing a resolution specifying the particular agency operation, which must include constitutional provisions, statutes, and/or rules and regulations.

Agency directors have 10 days from receipt of the resolution to deliver the requested legal authority documents to the resolution authors by regular mail or electronic format, unless the deadline is extended by request.

Agency directors or heads who fail to submit a response to such requests are subject to removal.

The act became effective November 1, 2015.
