School district boards of education may not contract with the same auditor for more than 5 consecutive years; districts unable to meet this requirement may apply to the State Board of Education for a waiver

Final audit reports must be presented at an open board meeting rather than through exit interviews, with no part presented to employees except in open session (portions related to executive session matters excepted)

Auditing firms that received a "pass with deficiency" grade on their most recent peer review must undergo pre-issuance review by the State Auditor and Inspector for any school district audit
