Commissioner of Public Safety may authorize night time travel permits for oversize vehicles when there is good cause and movement can be done safely, with terms and restrictions set by the Commissioner

Oversize permitted vehicles generally restricted to daylight hours only (one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset), while overweight-only permitted vehicles are exempt from this restriction

Removes statutory language requiring the Commissioner to develop a provisional permit system for authorized carriers moving oversize and overweight loads

Effective date of July 1, 2016, with emergency clause for immediate implementation upon passage and approval
