Honors the life and 26-year career of retired Oklahoma City Assistant Fire Chief and Public Information Officer Jon Hansen, who served the Oklahoma City Fire Department from November 1973 to July 1999.

Recognizes Hansen's role providing media updates and public reassurance following the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing on April 19, 1995, and the May 3, 1999 Moore tornado.

Notes Hansen was nominated by President George W. Bush in April 2002 to head the U.S. Fire Administration but withdrew his name to spend more time with family.

Declares April 23, 2016, as "Jon Hansen Day" in Oklahoma and extends condolences to his family following his death on April 15, 2016 after battling cancer.

Directs distribution of the resolution to Hansen's son Cory, daughter Jill, sisters Norene and Kathy, niece Annie, and brother-in-law Randy.
