HB 2187 Summary

• Requires all oil and gas operations including drilling, exploration, fracture stimulation, and production to eliminate noise and vibration as far as possible using best available technology available at the time.

• Vests the Oklahoma Corporation Commission with jurisdiction, power, and authority to promulgate and enforce rules and issue orders relating to noise and vibration elimination requirements.

• Adds new Section 317.2 to Title 52 of the Oklahoma Statutes to codify these requirements.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2017.
