Commemorates American Indians and tribal nations through respect for losses suffered during forced removal to Oklahoma, acknowledging the Indian Removal Act of 1830 and the Trail of Tears.

Directs Oklahoma Legislature to observe a moment of silence on February 22, 2017, to commemorate the sacrifices and hardships of all American Indians in Oklahoma.

Recognizes that Oklahoma is home to 38 federally recognized Indian tribes and acknowledges their contributions to state formation, economic development, and provision of critical social services.

Requires a copy of the resolution be distributed to every federally recognized tribal government in the State of Oklahoma.

Adopted by the House on February 13, 2017, and by the Senate on February 15, 2017.
